The history of Confucius Church can be traced back to 1935, when the May 4th Movement was booming and Confucianism was greatly questioned. Against this background, many famous and prestigious people in Hong Kong, as well as former Jinshi scholars from the Qing Dynasty, jointly organized the establishment of Confucius Hall, aiming to maintain the authentic Confucian ideological system. At the beginning of its establishment, Confucius Church already had school-running activities, but the scale was relatively small. It was not until 1953 that Kong Shengtang Middle School was officially established and established the school motto of "filial piety, loyalty, loyalty, etiquette, justice and integrity".

"Relying on the motherland and connecting the world" is an important direction of school education, and international exchange activities are carried out vigorously. More than ten years ago, the school started exchanges and cooperation with different countries, including Denmark, Germany, the United States and many other countries, forming a two-way exchange model-students from Confucius Shengtang went to visit, and foreign students also came to the school to exchange and study. Last year alone, the school held more than 150 activities of various sizes, ranging from small activities with 4-5 people to large group activities with 296 people. The school actively organizes students to participate in various large-scale international events. The World Water Resources Symposium for Middle School Students held in Nanjing is one of the most influential events. In addition, Confucius Hall students can always be seen in international events such as music festivals in Germany, dance festivals in India, and reading festivals in the United States. Taking the German Middle School Music Festival as an example, students from Confucius Hall discovered at the scene that most of the foreign participants were proficient in playing five or six musical instruments. This experience gave students a new understanding of music. In addition to working harder on the instruments they are good at, they also took the initiative to learn about other instruments and broadened their musical horizons. Principal Yeung Wing Hon added: "We adhere to the educational philosophy of allowing every student to have an international perspective, allowing them to have at least one overseas exchange opportunity during their six-year study period. Regardless of the student's family situation, the school will provide adequate support to students with financial difficulties to ensure that they can participate in exchange activities and broaden their horizons."

All-round transition plan: Master the language and integrate into life

The school has also invested a lot of energy in bridging education for newly arrived students, launching targeted 48-hour adaptation courses. The course is mainly divided into three parts, from language learning to community awareness, to help newly arrived students adapt to study and life in Hong Kong. The first part is Chinese teaching, focusing on learning Cantonese and traditional Chinese writing, helping students master Cantonese and understand traditional characters, and integrate into Hong Kong study life; the second part is English teaching, the course mainly teaches simple English communication skills and basic English vocabulary to lay the foundation for subsequent English learning.
