Language teaching has always been the core advantage of Man Kwan QualiEd College, especially the flexibility and depth of English teaching, which runs through every corner of course design and campus life. The school has always adhered to the concept of "giving students multiple opportunities to be exposed to English" and regards English as an important tool for students to go out of Hong Kong and connect with the world. In terms of class settings, there are two to three English classes at each level of junior high school to create a strong English learning atmosphere for students.

Over the years, the school has persisted in carrying out a variety of English-specific activities to separate language learning from simple classroom teaching. The Hong Kong Primary School English Folk Song Singing Competition held every year allows primary school students to improve their English expression skills in music through learning and performing English folk songs. The school has also established an English Drama Club, which holds English musical performances every year to showcase students' English abilities and talents, and attracts dozens of primary schools to observe and share the results of the school's English teaching with parents and the community. Even during the epidemic, activities are still conducted online.

Foreign teachers offer flexible teaching and English truly integrates into life

In terms of teachers, the school currently has three foreign English teachers from different countries, the latest of whom is from the Netherlands. The school continues to encourage junior high school students with strong English proficiency to participate in international English certification assessments such as TOEFL Junior. In order to broaden students' international horizons, the school actively carries out overseas exchanges and cross-regional learning. Currently, the school organizes as many as 20 overseas exchange groups every year, covering many mainland and overseas countries and regions, with an average of hundreds of participants per year. In terms of exchanges in the Mainland, the school launched a regular arrangement last year, in which all Form 3 students participated in a one-day Mainland experience activity and visited sister schools, science and technology parks, cultural monuments and other places to combine classroom knowledge with on-the-ground experience. This arrangement complements the Mainland exchange activities in Form 5 Civics, ensuring that each student can participate in at least two Mainland exchange activities during their time at school.

Overseas exchanges focus on multicultural experience and academic practice. The school organizes at least two large-scale overseas exchange tours every year: one to Japan, South Korea and other technologically developed regions to conduct scientific and technological themed studies; the other to Australia, the United Kingdom and other English-speaking countries to strengthen language application and cultural experience.

Taking into account the limited number of participants in overseas exchanges, the school uses innovative and technological means to expand the scope of benefits. Students participating in the tour will shoot 360-degree panoramic videos to record exhibition sites, classroom interactions, cultural experiences and other aspects. After returning to school, these contents will be played in the "Future Classroom", and students will serve as "little tour guides" to provide on-site explanations, so that all students in the school can "participate in overseas exchanges in the cloud" and feel the enthusiasm of the maker culture, the pulse of technological development and the charm of the world's diversity.

In addition, the school also actively organizes students to participate in overseas exhibitions and competitions, such as going to Rome to participate in the Maker Faire last year, and going to Japan to participate in the "Science Edge" scientific inquiry competition all year round. Previously, it also won platinum and silver medals in Romania's "InfoMatrix" technology invention competition. Students showcase their talents on the international stage and establish an international perspective through exchanges with young people around the world.

Build the classroom of the future and enhance the fun of learning

The deep integration of technology and education is another major development focus of the school. The school has created an immersive learning space "Future Classroom" that breaks the limitations of traditional classrooms and allows students to "walk into" textbook scenes through technologies such as sound, imaging, and interactive sensing. Students can interact in the virtual scene and complete tasks such as answering questions and explaining. Since last year, Chinese, English, history and other subjects have taken the lead in carrying out pilot teaching: when studying "Yueyang Tower", students can feel the style of the ancient building and deepen their understanding of classical Chinese; when studying history classes, they can restore the social environment of a specific era. This teaching model not only enhances the interest of learning, but also helps students establish intuitive cognition. It has now become a regular element of school curriculum design.

Forward-looking layout of AI education to master AI knowledge and skills

The layout of AI education is more forward-looking, because the school has participated in the CUHK Jockey Club "Smart" for the future project in the early years. Under the guidance of professors from CUHK, the school and other leading schools participated in the design and implementation of Hong Kong's first set of official AI teaching materials, and took on the task of providing AI teaching training and experience sharing for teachers at our school and other schools. In terms of curriculum, the school has fully integrated the 12 AI modules of the program into the three-year computer courses of junior high schools, covering basic concepts of AI, life applications, etc., ensuring that every junior high school student can master basic AI knowledge and skills. In addition, the school has participated in the "Intelligence for Academic Theory" project, integrating AI technology into subject teaching, and improving the efficiency and depth of scientific inquiry through experimental platforms, autonomous learning systems, etc.

Facing the flood of information in the AI era, the school lists "information literacy" as a core concern, attaches great importance to cultivating students' technology ethics and information judgment capabilities, and understanding the nature and moral boundaries of technology. In addition, the school also holds special lectures for students and parents every year, covering hot topics such as online responsibility and identifying false information, to establish a correct view of technology use. According to data, after three years of systematic training, students' performance in information literacy has shown significant progress and they are able to use technological tools such as AI more wisely.

Participate in service-learning activities that take into account physical, social, and spiritual development

The school builds a "living education" that focuses on promoting "healthy lifestyles" and guides students to take into account physical, social and mental health.
