In the past two years, the school has continuously expanded its classes and has been recognized by parents in the district. Facing the future, Principal Yan Oi Ling believes that mastering technological capabilities and soft skills, such as communication skills and general skills, will be necessary capabilities in the future. Therefore, the school focuses on AI-driven innovative teaching and equips students with the knowledge, technology and soft skills they need to prepare for the future through learning experiences inside and outside the classroom.

Technology drives innovative learning and masters AI to embrace the future

Principal Yan Oi Ling believes that students need to keep pace with the times and learn to make good use of AI. Therefore, the school implements the "AI 360: Technology-driven innovative learning" plan to deepen independent learning capabilities, cultivate the spirit of innovation and collaboration, and help students master AI technology in advance to connect with the ever-changing careers in the future. At the teaching level, the school arranges science teachers to participate in the CUHK "Intelligence for Academic Theory" program and holds teacher training workshops to support teachers in applying AI in teaching.

At the student level, the school has introduced Google Gemini AI as "Tan Zhongren's exclusive learning partner" to extend learning beyond the classroom and provide support anytime and anywhere to achieve efficient learning. At the same time, the Chinese subject introduced the "Witch Pen" AI correction platform, and the English subject used the "Penso" platform to provide real-time grading, feedback, and writing suggestions to optimize students' writing skills, allowing students to individually select tools based on their own abilities and needs, and cultivate independent learning abilities.

In addition, the school also promotes the "NS:U (Next Station: University) Project" to select students to provide additional academic support. During the after-school period of the program, the "NS:U AI Independent Learning Plan" is implemented, where teachers guide students to use AI to learn, comprehensively covering students' learning scenarios inside and outside class, helping them master AI technology and meet future challenges.

Technology X Event: Master AI technology from practice

Through a variety of activities and courses, the school allows students to develop their interests and master AI technology through practice. For example, a co-curricular activity called "Zhi Meng AI Creation Club" has been set up to allow students to use generative AI tools to express their creativity and help them prepare for their future careers. In addition, the school also held an "AI Book Reading Club" to guide students to make good use of AI for learning, and invited authors to share with the school to enhance students' understanding of AI applications. The students also represented Hong Kong in the 2025 Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Student Information Technology Innovation Competition hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, and won 1 first prize, 4 second prizes and 6 third prizes, fully demonstrating the students' innovative abilities.

In addition, the school combines AI with social entrepreneurship, guiding students to explore ideas from the community and use AI tools to organize business ideas or solutions to social problems. This year, the "AI for Social Entrepreneurship" course is arranged for Form 5 students, which guides students to start from ideas or problems and gradually advance, observe and find solutions to problems, and even participate in social innovation competitions with creative business ideas, helping students build a sense of success and entrepreneurial skills.

Focus on cultivating information literacy, think carefully, discern clearly, and use AI wisely

In the rapidly changing world of technology, schools attach great importance to cultivating students' information literacy and hope to ingrain the moral literacy of using technology into students' minds. For example, AI content is incorporated into D&T and computer classes to teach programming, common AI tools, etc., and at the same time, the "WISE" principle is used to guide students to "think carefully, judge clearly, and use AI wisely." Among them, W (Wisdom) cultivates students' wisdom in distinguishing the authenticity of AI information; I (Integrity) emphasizes integrity and prohibits the use of AI plagiarism; S (Safety) focuses on safety and guards against the leakage of personal information; E (Ethics) requires compliance with ethics and not abusing other people's information.

Implement the "Friendly Community Project" to cultivate values and soft skills

Through a number of programs, the school cultivates students’ values and soft skills such as empathy and responsibility, promotes personal development and enhances general abilities. For example, the "Friendly Community Project" is implemented to connect communities, allowing students to learn through practical experience and improve their communication and understanding skills. The core of the plan is to open the campus, allowing students and community elders to study and train together, participate in community visits, inspections and support, and participate in campus activities such as ball games and rope dance teams.

The school has successfully implemented the concept of a friendly community school, leading students and the elderly to serve as teaching assistants, supporting three primary schools in Tuen Mun District, and passing on the service-learning model. For example, a water rubbing painting workshop was launched, where students and elders taught primary school students how to make water rubbing paintings. When students participate in activities, they practice values ​​such as empathy, respect, responsibility and kindness, and give back to the society with what they have learned.

In addition, the school launched an "AI-assisted reading and writing program" for students with special learning needs. Students use AI to assist in interviewing elders, writing and gathering life stories. This process improves their communication skills and information technology application capabilities, while also learning and growing from the elders’ experiences.

Comprehensively promote personal development and become a "proud Tanzhong person"

This year, the school participated in the "YUP Leap and Shoot" project funded by the Jockey Club to help students understand themselves, explore their potential, and find their future development direction. In the Secondary One stage, in line with the concept of "Proud Tam Chung People", the "YLA Project" is launched to address the adjustment problem from primary school to secondary school, allowing students to set goals, and the Jockey Club provides resources to support them in practicing and demonstrating their results, thereby cultivating self-confidence and helping them set sail for the future.

Secondary 2 to Secondary 4 focus on career planning and provide different experiences to help students plan for the future and promote personal growth. Secondary 2 will conduct community visits, Secondary 3 will arrange virtual internships, and Secondary 4 will allow students to participate in physical workplace experiences and business simulations in groups, and adopt a community-based model to allow students to experience work related to the community economy, gain an in-depth understanding of business operations, and strengthen their connection with the community.

In addition, the plan includes "Report Card 360", which breaks the limitation of traditional transcripts that only record academics and comprehensively presents students' achievements in various fields. Through AI-assisted recording, students can track their own growth from the beginning, deepen their self-understanding, and promote personal development.

Diversified activities reveal potential and cultivate common abilities in the 21st century

In order to give students more opportunities to try out and show their potential, the school has more than 50 co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Co-curricular activities, weekly meetings or OLE time are held every ten days, including vocal music experience classes, coffee ambassador training, etc. There is also a user experience design bridging course that covers the principles of art and design and color theory, and provides Qualifications Framework Level 2 or above certification to equip students with professional skills. In addition, the school also organizes the "Tan Primary and Secondary School Stage" to give each class an opportunity to showcase their talents and learning achievements. Students gain courage, pride, success and happiness, and more importantly, develop their common skills such as collaboration and communication.

Deepen the cross-curricular Chinese language learning plan to improve English communication skills

This year, the school deepens the cross-curricular Chinese language learning plan and promotes English to different learning areas to meet future needs. English articles and short videos are integrated into the early reading period to stimulate students' interest and improve their English ability. In addition, there are English morning meetings hosted by foreign teachers every week, where students share on different themes, such as annual promotion of values, school special events or festivals, etc.

In terms of teaching, English learning videos will be incorporated into science, music, computer and visual arts classes. Teachers use English teaching materials and short videos to consolidate students' subject knowledge and improve their English ability. Every year, the school prepares "cross-curricular readers" for students of all grades, providing relevant chapters according to the theme. This year, English chapters that are close to the theme and related to the subject have been added to the Chinese chapters to broaden students' reading level and enrich their vocabulary.
