For example, you can walk into Chifu Shopping Mall with your students to learn English vocabulary in daily life situations; you can also participate in field trips to animal and plant parks to enrich your basic knowledge of English. In addition, the school has a dedicated English room to provide exclusive space for group activities and achievement reporting, promoting the deep integration of learning and life. Innovative reading strategies to cultivate reading habits

The school takes reading as the focus of English teaching, recommends books adapted to students' abilities, and provides tablets for borrowing, so that reading can be carried out at any time through the online platform. The school also promotes themed reading activities, focusing on different English writers in the first and second semesters: last semester, Roald Dahl was the core author, reading "James and the Giant Peach", and sixth graders read "Matilda"; at the same time, "Roald Dahl Reading Day" was held to encourage students to transform the content of the books into dramas, songs and other forms. The event also includes interactive sessions such as booth games and story role-playing. In addition, the school also introduces classic writers such as CS Lewis and Charles Dickens through campus layouts and book displays, allowing students to experience the joy of English reading in an immersive experience and gradually develop independent reading habits.

Interdisciplinary experiential learning organically combines different disciplines

The school joins the Learning Language Support Group of the Education Bureau and designs an interdisciplinary school-based curriculum based on the four updated priorities of the Hong Kong primary school English curriculum (values education and national security education, cross-curricular reading, information technology and literacy, and assessment literacy). Taking the "Chinese New Year" theme for fifth grade as an example, the school compiled an exclusive classroom booklet, using cross-curricular reading as the starting point, introducing the Chinese New Year theme from English-themed articles, and deeply integrating values, cultural knowledge, and English ability development.

In the experiential learning session, the school integrates English, Chinese, visual arts and other resources: through calligraphy practice, students learn to write Hui Chun in English and understand blessing sentences. At the same time, the school led students out of the classroom and made full use of community resources: it organized a campus TV station to visit the Pok Fu Lam Village lion dance troupe to understand the cultural connotation of the youth picking ceremony; it arranged for the lion dance team to participate in the Chinese Culture Day performance of Sacred Heart of Canossian College, and the campus TV station recorded the entire process in English and produced a special video. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in February and March. While improving their comprehensive English skills, students will also deepen their understanding and inheritance of good qualities such as unity and respect.

Diversified and distinctive English experience to build a platform for ability display

The school offers a number of special English activities. Among them, the Muppet Theater activity is directed by foreign teachers throughout the creation and production, and students will participate in the inter-school Muppet Competition; the English drama activity is based on Roald Dahl's work "The BFG" and incorporates value education elements. The school teachers choreograph, guide and organize performances to provide students with a stage to showcase their talents. In addition, the campus TV station will also publish campus news in English, systematically training students' hosting abilities and English interview skills, and improving their language application abilities.

Comprehensive English training for secondary school students to lay a solid foundation for the future

In order to help students successfully transition to middle school, the school has established a comprehensive English training system for students entering middle school. Starting from the fifth grade, content related to connection is gradually integrated into the curriculum; in the sixth grade, foreign teachers take turns to provide English training. This year, the school has also reached a cooperation with the nearby English high school Canossian Sacred Heart College to jointly launch the "English Interview Class for Middle School Entry". Students with outstanding English proficiency from the school are regularly invited to the school to practice English conversation with the students of the school, and at the same time share their interview experience and insights into middle school life.
