The unique learning environment creates a unique educational experience

The school has natural environment advantages that are unmatched by ordinary primary schools. It has a wide grassland and a rich variety of plants on the campus, such as kapok trees, loquat trees, and mulberry trees. The specially equipped herb garden and lotus pond make it look like a small natural country park. The school makes full use of this unique resource and sets up natural environment protection and life education courses, covering forest courses, traditional Chinese medicine experience in Baicao Garden, ecological observation, camping and other diverse contents, forming a unique natural education model. Students can perceive life and learn to cherish it while getting close to nature.

This year's new "Forest Curriculum" breaks with tradition and specially arranges parent-child activities for second graders. Twenty-five groups of families are invited to participate, and professional organizations are jointly implemented to ensure the safety and orderliness of the activities. The activity was held on the large grassland of the campus and lasted seven hours. From setting up tents, cooking together with children, to team games, parents were allowed to put down their mobile phones and focus on enjoying time together with their children. Finally, they cleaned up the venue together to cultivate self-care skills and environmental responsibility awareness. Two-day and one-night camps are offered to the third graders, while the fourth to sixth graders gradually expand to exchange experiences in the Greater Bay Area, other mainland cities, and even overseas, Australia and other places, forming a step-by-step growth system from parent-child companionship to teacher guidance to walking out of the house independently, allowing students to improve their adaptability and sense of responsibility in practice.

As the school's core Chinese culture learning garden, the Baicao Garden grows a variety of Chinese herbal plants and is also equipped with a Chinese Medicine Cultural Center, which is deeply connected with the Chinese medicine courses of the Chinese Language and Literature Department. In the past two years, the school has integrated "A Dream of Red Mansions" with traditional Chinese medicine culture into Chinese language teaching, and formed a unique interdisciplinary curriculum system. In addition, students do not need to go to the park for sketching. They can observe flowers, trees, and the changes of the four seasons in the school. The school attaches great importance to cultivating students to be biliterate and trilingual, and invests resources to create an immersive language learning environment to help students become proficient in English, Mandarin and Cantonese and enhance their international competitiveness. Starting from 2019, the school has hired several additional foreign English teachers to serve as deputy class teachers for the first grade. Through games, stories, reading, etc., students can be exposed to English in a happy atmosphere. The school designated Wednesday as English Day.
