Strengthen programming learning and connect technology to life

To embrace the future society, innovation, technology and creativity are naturally the new direction of educational development. Principal Lam Chi Bun is well aware of the importance of STEM education. In addition to implementing BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) since junior high school, it also implements the "Bring Your Own mBot" program. Principal Lam Chi Bun explained: "We will purchase an mBot electronic device for all Form One students, so that students can experience the fun of "hands-on" and learn programming from scratch. For example, students can use mBot to program and control different sensors, such as controlling light switches by sensing light and dark, to create smart homes." In addition, teachers will also teach the operating principles of drones and let students learn to control drones. During the activity, students can learn computer programming, flight principles and flight safety.

As STEM education in schools matures, Principal Lam Chi Bun hopes to integrate STEM with the community and allow students to actually solve daily life problems through the use of interdisciplinary knowledge and skills to embody the core of STEM education. Principal Lam Chi Bun continued: "We have always attached great importance to the connection with the community and regularly provide volunteer services to different institutions in the district, such as nursing homes, child care centers, etc. Therefore, we are discussing with these institutions and hope that students can design and invent according to the needs of the community to promote their common skills and give back to the community."

School-based English Pinyin course to enhance students’ confidence in English answering

English learning is a cumulative process. In order to improve students' efficiency in English learning, the school implements the English Phonics Program in junior high schools, allowing students to learn to use effective methods and techniques to spell out correct pronunciation and string words. At the same time, the school regards reading as one of the core English courses for junior high schools. Teachers will provide students with appropriate books according to their English proficiency to arouse their interest in English reading. Principal Lam Chi Bun believes that solid pinyin skills combined with extensive reading can help enhance students’ confidence in communicating in English and expand their English vocabulary.

Language learning requires input as well as output. With funding from the Quality Education Fund, the school launched the "Dream Via Drama Dream Stage" project to incorporate drama elements into English teaching, providing students with a space full of fun and imagination, and using completely innovative "situational teaching" to enhance students' interest in English.

Among the applied learning subjects offered by the school in the past two years, the mechanical engineering tutor showed the students a solar car to let them understand its structure and function.

Therefore, this school year it was invited by the "Jockey Club Applause·Create Your Journey Project" to become one of the resource schools to cooperate with different schools to improve career development education.

Represent Hong Kong internationally

Sports competitions can also cultivate students' perseverance, perseverance and discipline. With its impressive results in many local competitions, the dragon boat school team has participated in international competitions in Russia, Ukraine, Malaysia and other places as the Hong Kong youth team in the past; the rope skipping team has members participating in the World Rope Skipping Championships. In 2023, he won the championship in the single rope and interactive rope respectively, and his achievements are evident.
