Therefore, the school held "World Culture Day" and "Variety Performance Day" on campus earlier to provide students with rich learning experiences, broaden their horizons, and improve their knowledge, multiple intelligences, and values.

Establish an international perspective and deepen cultural connotation

The school understands the importance of broadening students' knowledge, but the three-year epidemic has forced children to only move around in the community. As society returns to normal, this year the school takes students to Xi'an, Beijing, South Korea and other places for exchanges, providing students with opportunities to explore the cultures of various places. In addition, the school held the "World Culture Day" in July, allowing students to experience cultures from all over the world on campus, from understanding traditional Chinese culture to moving towards the world and broadening their horizons. "World Culture Day" is divided into three parts: booth activities, auditorium activities and classroom activities. The content of the booth activities focuses on the four aspects of clothing, food, housing, and transportation, and games related to currencies, transportation, clothing, etc. of various countries are designed to allow children to get in touch with the customs and cultural connotations of different places through a pleasant experience. In terms of auditorium activities, through interactive lectures from professional organizations outside the school, children can learn about foreign cultures, such as Dutch tulips, windmills and other cultural features, and broaden their knowledge.

Classroom activities for grades one to six have different themes and contents. For example, grade one and grade two read the story "All people are beautiful" to give students a preliminary understanding of the characteristics of different races and ethnic groups around the world, and design national costumes for paper puppets. Grades three and four arranged cultural appreciation and made masquerade eye masks in class to understand the cultural symbolism of eye masks. Grades five and six made "Dream Catchers" to learn about the origin and significance of "dream catchers". In addition, on the day of the event, the school encouraged students to wear traditional costumes from different countries, such as Chinese cheongsam, Hanbok, Indian sari, ancient Egyptian clothing, etc., to increase their sense of involvement in the event. Through "World Culture Day", students not only have fun studying and having fun, but also learn cultural knowledge about different places and broaden their cultural connotations.

Learn English and use it flexibly to experience the fun of language

Language skills are an integral part of building an international perspective. Therefore, the "World Culture Day" is held in English and is under the responsibility of the English subject team. Through auditorium activities and classroom activities, students can learn English terms from around the world and their cultural projects, and expand their English vocabulary reserves, which is of great benefit to their reading and writing. On the other hand, all-English activities can create a strong English learning atmosphere for students. Two foreign English teachers, Mr. Abhishek and Mr. Moore, opened two stalls that day to bring ethnic snacks from their hometown to children and share childhood games, so that students can immerse themselves in the English context, freely use English as a communication tool, and enjoy the fun of English.

Establish positive values and discover the truth, goodness and beauty of life

Principal Zheng said: "Values education is one of our concerns, but we cannot cultivate children's values ​​only by relying on the knowledge in books." He believes that respect for others and tolerance are virtues that children need to cultivate and possess. Through "World Culture Day", children not only learn about the cultural characteristics of different parts of the world, but also learn to respect, tolerate and appreciate the cultures of different regions. For them, this is exactly what helps establish their values ​​and train students to become outstanding talents of truth, goodness and beauty.

Create a stage to showcase talents, spread opportunities and build a sense of accomplishment

Principal Zheng believes that students' growth is not only based on books, but also requires a sense of achievement and satisfaction from things other than academic achievements. Every student should have the opportunity to develop his or her talents, so talent display is also a part of learning. "Children need to build self-confidence and accumulate experience. Every child has their own talents. We don't want the opportunity to perform on stage to only belong to a small number of people, but to make it universal so that everyone has a fair chance to show off their talents."

"Variety Performance Day" can give students a stage to show off and an opportunity to enhance their self-confidence and sense of achievement. There were 21 performance teams on the performance day, with nearly 200 students participating, accounting for one-third of the student population. Performance projects cover a variety of areas, such as fancy rope skipping, dance, music, drama, traditional opera, etc., allowing children to publicly demonstrate the skills they have learned in extracurricular activities in the past year, thereby gaining a sense of achievement and satisfaction.

"Variety Performance Day" not only helps students build a sense of satisfaction, but parents can also be proud of their children's performance. The activity mainly invites parents of participating students to appreciate their children's performances and witness their children's achievements and gains in the learning process through the activities.
