Lung Kong WFSL Lau Wong Fat Secondary School is committed to optimizing teaching strategies and curriculum design, taking care of students’ different learning needs and future development, and creating more opportunities for students to show their talents. In the past year, the school implemented the "One Diploma, Multiple Certificates" program to improve students' language skills and workplace competitiveness; it also launched "Active Fridays" for the first time to help students develop their whole person. Dual-track approach promotes STEAM and cultivates innovation, technology and innovation talents

In terms of innovation, technology and innovation education, the school adopts a dual-track approach: one is scientific research and creation, and the other is science and technology learning.

Scientific research and creation

The school encourages students to practice by themselves, develop their own works, and provides opportunities for success. Students' performance in STEAM competitions is particularly outstanding. Recently, the school arranged for students to participate in the "CityU Science Patent Challenge", which allowed them to start with bacteria and, under the guidance of teachers, successfully develop a decomposable, high-tenacity, high-filtration and low-cost filter technology. This work won the gold medal in the competition and successfully applied for patent certification for 8 years with the assistance of the City University legal team.

In addition, the school combines scientific research and creation with value education to encourage students to gain inspiration in the research and development process. Four years ago, the school cooperated with Professor Lam Hon-ming, Professor of Life Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, to let students understand the concept of "soybeans coming home", conduct STEAM education on the theme of soybeans, and explore the research and development of drought- and cold-resistant soybeans. From the junior high school level, students begin to be exposed to artificial intelligence and the application of various sensors, including robot production, underwater robots and navigation engine development. Through the dual-track approach, the school continues to deepen and expand in the STEAM field. Many students have participated in the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education, and the Alibaba Seed Program provides AI cloud and user experience design courses (Qualification Framework Level 3 Certificate), as well as the Seed Foundation work internship program. Forward-looking English strategies serve as communication bridges

Diplomas and certificates are important symbols of academic achievements and professional qualifications, which help enhance students' competitiveness and are of great benefit to their career development. To this end, the school specially hires tutors to teach IELTS courses and provides subsidies for high school students to take the IELTS exam. It also arranges for all Form 5 students to take the TOEIC exam with financial support from the school. Schools make extensive use of artificial intelligence in English education. For example, in the teaching of English poetry creation in Form One, AI is used to generate poetry situational content, broaden students' creative expression, and enhance their interest in English poetry. The school also participates in the university's artificial intelligence e-learning program, providing high school students with interactive tutoring on English composition in the DSE model to improve students' English writing skills in a targeted manner.

The school carries out cross-curricular language learning and integrates English into different courses, allowing students to explore topics in various fields in English and stimulate interest in life and culture. For example, by introducing the English translation of the famous Chinese novel "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", students are asked to analyze the characteristics and personalities of Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun in English, and explore the relationship between the protagonists and the school motto of "loyalty, righteousness, benevolence and courage", thereby consolidating English knowledge, improving reading and writing skills, cultivating cultural connotations and promoting values ​​education.

The English subject group also organizes a variety of English activities, such as Spanish football, Bollywood dance and Music around the world, to allow students to experience multiculturalism and broaden their horizons. Therefore, in the past two years, the school has adopted "Work hard, Play hard, Serve hard" as its development theme, hoping that every student can devote himself to learning, participate in various activities and serve the society. To this end, the school has incorporated diversified music, sports and arts activities into the curriculum and designated Friday afternoon as "Vibrant Friday". At the same time, the "One Uniform for Life" program is launched. Form one students need to choose one of the Scouts, Red Cross, Junior Police Call Leaders and Girl Guides to participate; Form two and three students can choose to participate in various top-notch classes, interest classes and language classes, such as AI cloud certificates, cooking classes, shuttlecock classes, Japanese classes, HipHop classes, etc. As for Form 4 and Form 5, the school arranges career-oriented applied learning courses, including Chinese medicine, popular music, practical psychology and service English, allowing students to choose according to their interests and systematically and purposefully develop the spirit of "Work hard, Play hard, Serve hard".

At the same time, the school has also been invited by the Home Affairs Department, Qingtu and other organizations to take students to the West Kowloon Cultural District and the Victoria Harbor Promenade to perform street music performances; to create paintings on the Mong Kok flyover; and to host the national women's volleyball team in Hong Kong for competitions, giving students the opportunity to interact with the national team. Inherit loyalty, righteousness, benevolence and courage, cultivate virtuous people

National and global citizenship identity, broad knowledge base, language proficiency, generic skills, information literacy, career planning and healthy lifestyle are the seven learning objectives emphasized by the Education Bureau. The school launched the "Life Growth Guide", which organically combines the school motto "loyalty, righteousness, benevolence and courage" with the seven learning purposes. Each area has specific performance criteria. Students will follow the guidelines of the "Life Growth Guide" to set an appropriate and feasible goal for themselves in each area, as well as a plan to achieve the goal; then practice and review the progress; and finally conduct a settlement at the end of the year to systematically cultivate students' qualities in developing the seven learning purposes.

In addition, the school also emphasizes that "Do not do evil because it is small, and do not do good because it is small. Only virtue can convince others." In line with the "Forefather's teachings", the school implements the "A Little More Project" to educate students not to fail to act just because good deeds are small, and to encourage students to take an extra step in each category to establish correct values ​​and cultivate them to become virtuous people.

Gradually connect to middle school life, home-school cooperation improves learning effectiveness

Principal Chan Wai WunUnderstands that Form One students need to be mentally prepared to study in a strange environment, so the school provides a bridging course divided into two stages. The first phase started in July. The one-week summer camp allows new students to familiarize themselves with the school’s environment, concepts, people and things, and arranges for them to join the society and get to know the new team. The second phase is held before the start of school in August, and provides academic courses such as Chinese, English, mathematics, science and computer to help students gain a preliminary understanding of the subjects they are about to study and adjust their mentality to prepare for school.

In terms of student support, the school provides after-school support classes to provide appropriate care for students with different learning speeds. In addition, the school will set up a "Reading with You Program" where teachers will consolidate the content taught in class for students.
