The school has formulated three major policies in terms of science and technology education: first, to encourage students to observe problems in daily life and how to use technology to solve problems; second, to promote biotechnology education and allow students to use biotechnology to solve environmental or medical problems; third, to focus on training in information technology such as big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain to adapt to the ever-changing technological development. Starting from Secondary One, the school has cultivated students' interest in innovative technologies through curriculum and extracurricular activities. In the 2023-24 school year, 18 students from Form 3 to Form 5 from the school formed a team to participate in the "2023 International Genetically Engineering Machine Design Competition (iGEM)". Three of the students represented the school and went to Paris, France to participate in this world-class synthetic biology competition organized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Students studied how to use biotechnology to improve the efficiency of degrading plastic and solve the problem of ocean pollution by using DNA double strands to connect enzymes responsible for degrading plastic. Their research results were highly recognized by the competition judges and they eventually won the silver medal.

Through the above-mentioned innovation and technology competitions, students can exchange ideas with outstanding young people from all over the world and expand their horizons.
