Principal Au Weifeng leads Ko Ko Ning Memorial Primary School in four main directions: creating a caring, positive and healthy campus, providing diversified activities to develop students' potential, and integrating Chinese culture into the curriculum and school-based special courses. Establish a positive campus atmosphere to help children grow happily

The district principal pointed out: "The school hopes to create a healthy, caring and positive campus for the children to help them improve their happiness and allow them to grow happily." To this end, the school is working in two major directions to enable students to thrive in a caring and positive campus.

The "Super Kids" award program allows students to express themselves in three major areas (diligence in study, self-discipline and compliance, and talent and service), cultivate a positive attitude, and show the beauty of life. Teachers give point rewards instantly in class, and students can use the points to redeem school-designed gifts. The district principal added: "The names of the gifts have special meanings. For example, calling umbrellas a 'wind-shielding umbrella' aims to convey the true meaning behind the gifts. When students see these gifts, they will think of their own process of overcoming difficulties, and I hope they will feel that the school is always with them." In order to better understand the needs of students and build closer relationships, this year's special award "I have a date with the district principal" was created. The principal and the students had lunch together and shared the joys of life.

Secondly, the school implements the "Just Feel Partner School Program", which is prevention-oriented and promotes the cooperation between families, teachers and students to jointly build an empathetic campus culture and support students' emotional and learning needs. In particular, the school divides the afternoon session on Tuesdays into class time for experts, such as the snare drum corps, violin, campus TV, basketball, and martial arts. The specially designed Chinese culture room provides students with a good learning environment for them to learn calligraphy and tea art. Calligraphy experts come to the school to teach the correct way to hold a pen and write, and explain the development of characters, so that students can feel the leisure and tranquility brought by calligraphy; tea masters teach traditional tea-making skills, and incorporate meditation elements into learning to promote the mental health concept of "4Rs" advocated by the Education Bureau. The school also arranges martial arts classes to cultivate students' values such as unity and perseverance; the annual Chinese Culture Day event allows students to demonstrate the achievements of the Chinese culture curriculum throughout the school year and promote Chinese quintessence, such as face-changing, juggling and other activities, to build a healthy body, mind and soul and feel proud of being Chinese.

For example, the school participated in the CoolThink project a few years ago and served as a pilot school to integrate it into information technology education in upper primary schools. By teaching students to use tools such as laser printing, drones, and App Inventor, we develop their basic knowledge and skills, creativity, logical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

In order to expose students to more cutting-edge technologies, the school led students to participate in the "Hong Kong Primary and Secondary Schools Flash Tour to the Greater Bay Area Program" last year and went to Nansha to understand the development of local innovative technologies. Through the operation principles of high-end technology tea and tea bags, artificial intelligence was used for book return systems and automatic recognition book classification systems. They also visited the Guangzhou Automobile Museum to learn about technologies such as automatic navigation, voice control systems and AI recognition of roadblocks. Students can understand the internal structure of electric vehicles and the principle of battery propulsion.
