Principal Zheng is well aware that education needs to keep pace with the times, so he actively uses electronic learning tools to cultivate students’ independent learning habits and guides them in the correct use of technology. In school-based courses, through the application of electronic technology, students are taught to use artificial intelligence (AI) to transform abstract words into concrete pictures, stimulating their interest in writing. In addition, the school also introduced an English conversation learning platform to break the limitations of time and space and allow students to continue their learning after class.

In the future, Principal Zheng plans to introduce a variety of AI tools to help students learn Mandarin and classic classical Chinese passages to promote independent learning and build lifelong learning capabilities. "Students face the complex Internet environment. How to filter the information provided by AI and use the data appropriately are all topics they need to learn." To this end, the school participates in the "My Pledge to Action Enhanced Edition" QEF program to guide students to build information media literacy through diversified learning experiences such as visits to news centers and lectures.

STEAM x value practice: giving back to society with knowledge

In terms of STEAM education, the school actively provides students with opportunities to participate in learning to develop their programming skills, computational thinking, creativity and problem-solving abilities. At the popularization level, the school participates in the STEAM middle management program launched by the Chinese University of Hong Kong to encourage students to use the knowledge they have learned to help those in need. For example, through experiential activities, students can understand the difficulties faced by visually impaired people when crossing the road, and thus reflect on the need for optimization of traffic lights. Students learn to see the world from the perspective of the visually impaired, and ultimately design smart traffic lights to help the visually impaired cross the road safely, giving knowledge back to society.

At the top level, the school has developed a number of STEAM courses, such as LEGO programming classes and innovation and technology competitions, with funding from the "Fun IT Learn More" project.
