Hong Kong Education System Structure
Hong Kong has 15 years of free education, from kindergarten to senior secondary.
Kindergarten
- Free Quality Kindergarten Education Scheme (K1-K3)
- Half-day and whole-day classes
Primary School
Six-year system, divided into government, aided, direct subsidy, and private primary schools.
Secondary School
Six-year system, divided into junior secondary (S1-S3) and senior secondary (S4-S6).
Senior Secondary and Public Exams
After completing senior secondary, students can take the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) to apply for university or sub-degree programs.
