| whole_school_approach_cater_for_learner_diversity | Our school has set up a Student Support Team to cater to learners' diversity and promote mutual respect of individuals' differences among students, as well as cultivate an inclusive school culture. The team consists of the Vice-principal, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Guidance Master, Social Workers, experienced teachers, and professionals like educational psychologists, clinical psychologists, and speech therapists. It conducts early identification and early intervention for students with special needs, and encourages teachers to adopt different teaching approaches to meet the diverse student needs in regular classrooms. By using the Learning Support Grant and Grant for Supporting NCS Students with SEN, the school adopts various accommodation measures to facilitate student development, such as personal coaching and tutorials, various training courses (e.g., phonics, social and communication skills, executive functioning, study skills, etc.), on-site speech therapy, on-site consultation with educational psychologists and clinical psychologists, social adaptation activities, special examination and homework arrangements, and even individual educational plans if necessary. Regular case meetings are held for teachers and parents to better understand different students' needs and evaluate the support measures for both the academic and student support domains. Understanding and catering to learners' diversity workshops are offered regularly during teacher development days. |
