whole_school_approach_cater_for_learner_diversityMost subjects incorporate group activities to cater to learners' diverse needs. Group leaders guide slower learners and facilitate group learning activities.
whole_school_approach_integrated_educationWe adopt a whole school approach to implementing integrated education. Student Support Team has been established, consisting of the principal, vice-principal, special educational needs coordinator, special educational needs support teachers, school-based educational psychologists, speech therapists, subject teachers, school counsellors, social workers, and teaching assistants. This team supports students with special educational needs. We utilize the Learning Support Grant and other resources to provide a wide range of support services for these students, including social development groups, group and individual counselling, and after-school learning programs. We also address students' learning differences through curriculum design, diversified teaching strategies, and adjustments to homework and assessments, thereby enhancing the learning outcomes of students with special educational needs. Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) are implemented for students with more significant learning, emotional, and social difficulties. To identify students with special educational needs early, our school has established a referral system and collaborates closely with professionals, such as school-based educational psychologists, to conduct regular individual meetings and student assessments. We value home-school collaboration and have established regular communication channels to discuss and review student support strategies and their effectiveness with parents through student support summaries, face-to-face meetings, and electronic platforms.
