language_policy1. We provide full ENGLISH Medium of Instruction (EMI) and CHINESE Medium of Instruction (CMI) streams to cater to the diverse needs of our students. Students are placed in the EMI or CMI stream based on their learning needs.
2. Students in the same form are divided into different groups according to their language proficiency levels in Chinese Language and English Language.
3. We offer the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) in both English and Chinese, as well as Chinese GCSE for non-native speakers of Chinese. Apart from the HKDSE, non-Chinese speaking students can apply for the GCSE Chinese Language Examinations instead. Applied Learning Chinese course for Non Chinese students is also provided.

sc_remarksEMI and CMI hand-in-hand: Naturally united by English and Chinese, we work hand-in-hand through regular language-based and sports activities, including weekly English and Chinese assemblies and reading sessions. In addition, we have Chinese culture and English weeks. Other annual events include our bilingual singing contest, Chinese and English drama competitions, sports day and sports competitions. At Buddhist Fat Ho Memorial College, we are fortunate that our students come from diverse cultural backgrounds, so that we are naturally united by Chinese and English.

fee_remissionOur school offers full school fee remission, 3/4 or 1/2 school fee remission. Needy students, including those from families receiving the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) and students receiving financial assistance provided by the Student Finance Office of the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA), could apply for fee remission. Students of all forms can apply for the school remission scheme from August to May. Application results is announced within 4 weeks after the submission of applications.
