language_policyWe adopt the policy of bi-literacy and tri-lingualism. Since 2000, the EMI (English as the Medium of Instruction) stream has been in operation. Starting from 2013-2014, all junior secondary classes (S.1 to S.3) have adopted English as the medium of instruction. We have employed native English-speaking teachers to assist in executing our language policy. The school organizes English Camps and Overseas Study Tours. Putonghua is the medium of instruction in Chinese Language and Chinese History lessons. The school encourages students to participate in inter-school academic and language competitions, such as the Speech Festival and the Drama Festival.

sc_remarks1. With the approval of the EDB, our school operates 30 classes. However, we adopt a small-class teaching policy. There are now 37 classes from S.1-S.6.

learning_and_teaching_strategiesThe policy of "Innovative Teaching, Tailored Curriculum, Strengthening the Foundation, Catering for Learning Diversity" has been implemented. Small class teaching has also been adopted. The school places a lot of emphasis on the policy of biliteracy and trilingualism. We aim to nurture in students the ability of self-directed learning and creative thinking. Gifted education is also developed. To ensure learning and teaching efficacy, collaborative lesson preparation, peer lesson observation and evaluation are implemented. In order to advocate personalized learning, our school establishes a series of learning circles in numerous subjects, such as Chinese, English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Computer, Chinese History, History, Geography and Economics, etc.
school_based_curriculum1. Electives: 2X. Senior Secondary Curriculum: 4 core subjects and 2 to 3 electives.
2. Curriculum highlights: Diversified school-based subjects have been incorporated into our curriculum. We have offered Citizenship, Economics and Society for S.1-S.2, Life and Society for S.3, Self-Regulated Learning, Chinese Culture, English Reading and Speaking Lessons as well as STEAM Project Lesson for S.1 to S.3 students. We also provide the elective courses of English Drama Lessons for S.1 & S.2 students as well as Mathematics Enrichment Programme, Traditional Chinese Painting and Sport and Health Course for S.3 students.
major_renewed_emphases_in_the_school_curriculum1. Reading to learn. To implement the strategy of "Reading to Learn", the school actively promotes reading in our curriculum. Measures include creating a whole-school reading time, the establishment of Chinese and English reading lessons at junior levels and encouraging junior students to read "Must-Read Books", which is a list of books on English & Chinese subjects.
2. Information technology for interactive learning. All our teachers apply IT in their teaching. All S.1 to S.6 students are equipped with an iPad for e-learning during the lessons. All classrooms and special rooms are equipped with "Interactive Teaching Panels" to replace the traditional blackboards to increase teaching effectiveness. We also operate "e-class" and "online self-learning courses" to enhance teacher-student interaction and to cultivate students' abilities to learn independently.
3. The emphasis of Citizenship, Economics and Society, Life and Society are to help students develop a positive self-concept, and cultivate their sensitivity to, interest in, and awareness of local, national and global issues. This helps them become knowledgeable, responsible nationals, who love the country and Hong Kong.
4. "Self-Regulated Learning" in S.1, S.2 & S.3 to enhance students' learning motivation and ability.
5. All-round Learning Week - S.4 World Classroom. Through a wide range of learning excursions, students' horizons are broadened.
6. Moral and Civic education. We believe the best way to develop moral & civic values in students is by inspiration and experiences. Therefore, we have various award programmes to reinforce students' good behaviour, for instance, Challenge with No Limits Programme, Multiple-intelligences Student Award Scheme, Super Volunteer Programme and Leadership Training Programme. The "Whole Personality Development" scheme is also implemented.

whole_school_approach_integrated_educationOur school is committed to establishing an inclusive culture and supports students with special educational needs in a whole-school approach. The SEN Team composed of the vice principal, disciplinary master, guidance master, social workers, and educational psychologist, provides support for these students. This includes providing special exam arrangements, various group activities or programs in collaboration with external organizations to enhance students' learning, behaviour and emotional management. Our educational psychologist offers assessment and consultation services, while the speech therapist conducts speech training. Our counsellor, social workers and guidance teachers provide individual counselling as needed. We also hold case conferences and develop individual education plans for students who require additional support.
adaptation_for_learning_and_assessmentWe are committed to continuously assessing our students in various modes including class performance, homework, quizzes and projects, and providing immediate follow-up remedial lessons.
fee_remissionOur school offers full school fee remission, 3/4, 1/2 or 1/4 school fee remission. We also provide Nurturing Young Talent Fund to help students participate in extra-curricular activit. Needy students, including those from families receiving the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) and students receiving financial assistance provided by the Student Finance Office of the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA), could apply for fee remission. Our school provides scholarships to award students who ranked from the 1st to 10th in the final examination. Also, we also provide "Scholarship for Secondary One Admission" for prospective students who demonstrate outstanding performance in academic pursuit and extra-curricular activities.

home_school_co_operationOur school attaches great importance to home-school cooperation. The Parent-Teacher Association has been established for more than 60 years. Our school sets up a Parent Resource Center and arranges yearly activities such as "Teacher's Day", "PTA Picnic", "S.6 Caring Day" and "Be Grateful to Parents". Besides, our school establishes a "Parent Academy" with workshops and seminars focusing on tips on parenting and family education. In addition, the Class Visit for Parents, Parent's Day and Home-visit activities are organised.
school_ethosThe school cherishes an ethos of simplicity and modesty and has been awarded distinction in this aspect by the External School Review Team of the EDB. Class teachers make regular phone calls to parents, meet with parents, pay home visits and work closely with the discipline and counselling teachers as we believe "Prevention is better than cure". We implement the Seven Good Habits and Self-regulated Learning Projects. The holistic counselling approach, including "Let's Thrive with Responsibility, Self-motivation, Gratitude and Confidence" scheme, is carried out to support the growth of students.
