language_policySince the establishment of our school, we have persisted in mother-tongue teaching. To enhance students' capability of handling trilingualism is also our school major concern. We firmly believe that mother tongue is the most effective medium of instruction for our students by which they can fully acquire the subject knowledge and develop higher-order thinking skills. Concurrently, English language learning is always a top priority. We adopt small class teaching in S.1-S.3 English lessons. We are devoted to creating a favourable English learning environment for our students. Launching different English learning programmes, such as S.1 Drama Lessons, English Morning Assembly held every Thursday, English Week, Study Tour to Australia, Canada and the UK, Oral lessons & group discussions conducted by our NET teacher, has greatly enhanced the English standards of our students.
Mathematics and Integrated Science subjects at Junior Forms and Senior Forms are taught and assessed using English in our school. English textbooks are adopted. This aims to increase students' exposure to English and the chance in using the language, thereby enhancing their confidence in learning English and facilitating a smoother transition to university.

Our school received "Outstanding School Award" from the High-Five Student Engagement Award Scheme in 2022, "Sustained Excellence Award" in 2023, and "Family & Community Connection Award" for our honourable achievement in promoting positive school culture. In 2024-25 school year, we have launched "Positive Education Class" for S1 students. This learning programme is in partnership with Bei Shan Tang Foundation. It aims at equipping students with the growth mindset and enhancing their psychological resilience in order to help students cope with new challenges. Our school was awarded "Caring School Campus", "The Most Caring Teaching Team Award", "Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence in Guidance and Discipline", "The Most Harmonious School Campus", "Bronze Award in the Hong Kong Healthy Schools Award Scheme" in previous years. learning_and_teaching_strategiesWe received the honour of Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence (2016/2017) in “Science Education Key Learning Area”. To improve learning effectiveness through the enhancement of students' self-learning skills is our school major concern. Apart from the implementation of e-learning, we also create student learning communities and equip students with learning strategies. Our teachers are responsive, hardworking, dedicated and innovative. Significant enhancement in the professional qualification of teachers can be seen. The professional development and mentorship schemes of our school encourage peer lesson observation, collaborative lesson preparation, lesson study and other informal sharing among our teachers. To cater for students' diverse learning needs, we adjust the curriculum according to students' individual differences.
To foster self-management and learning abilities in students, we train them with 9 Key Learning Habits (KLHs) for efficient learning. Decorating our campus with English signs & quotes and increasing the proportion of English elements in school activities are our key steps to provide an enriched English learning environment. Apart from English subject, Math subject and Science subjects also get involved in promoting English teaching and learning. These subjects collaborate and use common teaching strategies for enhancing students' learning in and through English.
Cross-curricular integration is implemented to reduce overlapping content and make good use of the teaching resources. The junior secondary subject, Citizenship, Economics and Society, aims at helping students to develop a positive understanding of oneself and to become informed and responsible citizens.

Besides, the adaptation of the curriculum, the design of classroom activities and the arrangement of extended learning activities as well as the peer learning groups after class are the measures to meet students' needs.

The Whole School Approach is adopted to support the students with special educational needs. The Student Support Team of our school is composed of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), teachers from Discipline and Counselling Teams, a social worker and an educational psychologist. Our school has utilized the Learning Support Grant to hire additional staff and procure professional services such as speech therapy services and tutoring services. Additionally, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) organizes various activities, such as parent workshops, parent fellowships, PTA picnic, and tea gatherings for parents. Moreover, the PTA actively assists in organizing events and participating in volunteer services, including second-hand book sales, “Parents-Also-Appreciate-Teachers” Drive, flower sales for charity, and visiting students in impoverished mountain regions. The process turns our teachers into reflective practitioners who can see their own strengths and weaknesses. Our teachers are keen to upgrade themselves through continuing professional development. As our school has become a learning community, there is momentum for sustainable development and continuing improvement.
In order to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness and strengthen teachers’ professional capacity, we participated in the Quality School Improvement Project (QSIP) established by the Hong Kong Institute of Educational Research (HKIER) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) since 2019, in which teachers were equipped with the skills of collaborative lesson planning, lesson observation and self-improved mechanism. We had a team of senior teachers to conduct "Open Lessons" last year. All teachers were welcomed to observe the lessons.
Lesson study is promoted in all subjects in recent years. Teachers will collaborate on designing and revising the lesson plan. A post-lesson conference will be held as it is a valuable opportunity for teachers and observers to share good teaching strategies and practices, and refine the lesson plan for better learning outcomes.

We encourage our students to take part in various competitions and impressive results have been obtained. Besides, Learning Activity Day is held twice a year.
