language_policyOur school actively implements the 'Biliterate and Trilingual' policy. All English and Putonghua teachers have passed the benchmark assessment. Most subjects are taught in Cantonese. Putonghua is offered in the junior forms. Our school implements Language Across the Curriculum (LAC) and Reading Across the Curriculum (RaC) programmes, through which students conduct project research, writing, and presentations in English to enhance their language proficiency. Students may also choose to take their HKDSE examinations in Physics and Chemistry in English.

oa_orientation_activities_n_healthy_lifeIn July, our school will conduct an orientation seminar for S.1 parents, followed by a Orientation and Bridging Programs for S.1 students in August. The Orientation Program for S.1 students will feature adventure activities and icebreaker games, while the Bridging Program will encompass subjects like Chinese, English, Mathematics as well as Music Appreciation, with the goal of providing a strong foundation for new S.1 students over the summer. To foster appropriate values, build resilience, and promote awareness of healthy living among S.1 students, our school actively participates in the 4Rs Mental Health Charter and the Healthy Campus Policy.

school_organisationThe School Management Committee (SMC) is set up to make school-based decisions regarding administrative and management policies. The School's Policy & Executive Committee and different functional groups help to facilitate the integration of teaching and learning.
imc_smc_mcOur School Management Committee (SMC) was set up in 1999. It now consists of 10 members, including the Chairman (assigned by EDB), the School Principal, 2 parent representatives, 2 representatives from the Alumni Association, 2 independent members and 2 teacher representatives. Under normal circumstances, three meetings are held every year to discuss and report on major school matters.
school_green_policyThe school attaches much importance to environmental education which aims to promote energy saving. The Green Wall, renewable energy projects at rooftop and library rooftop greening project have been completed. Our school's Environmental Education Committee is responsible for promoting various educational initiatives for students. In addition to regular classes, different subject departments also implement environmental education through various activities to enhance students' awareness of environmental protection.

Various theme-based activities are organized, such as English Learning Week and interdisciplinary project studies, to address diverse student needs and foster motivation. For junior secondary students, English phonics exercises, board games in Chinese, English, Mathematics, English debating presentation class and English Drama, all of which contribute to a comprehensive learning experience. The Chinese, English, and other subjects employ online self-learning platforms to allows students to progress at their own pace and to enhance self-directed learning in a gradual manner.

Courses focused on language enhancement and academic improvement are offered. Collaborative teaching methods are implemented to boost students' motivation for learning. A full commitment to inclusive education is maintained, respecting individual differences. Experts and teaching assistants are hired to address the special educational needs of each student and to organize activities and programmes for those in need.
whole_school_approach_integrated_educationThe school fosters Inclusive Education through a "Whole School Approach" to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Learning Support Grants (LSG) is used for hiring teaching assistants and for purchasing services for SEN students, for instance, hiring Clinical Psychologist and Counsellor to help students with emotional problems. Our Social Workers also provide guidance support for students with emotional needs. Remedial classes in Chinese, English, and Mathematics. Adaptations for homework are provided. Meetings regarding Individual Education Plans (IEP) are conducted.
support_for_non_chinese_studentsOur school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school. We organise pull-out programme for Non-Chinese speaking students in their Chinese lessons. We also provide supplementary Chinese lessons for Non-Chinese speaking students to support their preparation for the HKDSE.
adaptation_for_learning_and_assessmentBoth continuous and summative assessments are adopted to evaluate students' performance and for reviewing teachers' instructional strategies. Each year, two uniform tests and two examinations are conducted, along with frequent quizzes administered by subject teachers. Project Learning is implemented to help develop students' generic skills. For students in S.4 - S.6, academic performance is assessed according to HKDSE requirements. Special examination arrangements are provided to support students in the most conducive environment.

home_school_co_operationThe Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) collaborates closely with the school to ensure high-quality education for students. To foster better communication and interaction between parents and the school, the PTA holds regular meetings. It organizes a variety of activities, including educational seminars for parents, collaborative events, and parent-child outings. These initiatives aim to enhance parental education, improve communication between parents and their children, and strengthen the partnership between home and school. Parents were often invited to engage in different school activities to further solidify this connection. Furthermore, the School Management Committee includes two parent representatives, elected by the PTA members, which encourages more active parental participation in school governance.
