oa_orientation_activities_n_healthy_lifeSummer Bridging Programme (SBP) is held in mid-August for all new Form 1 students. Students become familiar with the new study environment and learning/teaching pattern in LSC by attending normal lessons of various subjects, e.g. English, Chinese, Mathematics, Life and Society, Science, ICT and Physical Education. Special programmes are designed for newcomers to help students become familiar with school regulations, student support services, and Catholic life by various pastoral teams such as discipline team, guidance team, learning support service team, and Catholic society. The highlight of the SBP is a training day camp, in which self-discipline, resilience, cooperation skills and problem-solving skills are cultivated.

life_planning_educationA structured career education curriculum has been implemented during the Form Teacher Periods, Form 1-6, in a sequential and systematic manner. Special information sessions are tailored for F.3 and F.6 students and parents about F.4 streaming and university application procedures. The Careers Team is adept at fully engaging the expertise of alumni in programmes like our Careers Day, Overseas Education Talks, Form 5-6 Interview Workshops, and Job Shadowing Programmes. Special counselling is provided for F.6 students on JUPAS where a career teacher is assigned to look after each F.6 class in their academic programme and psychological well-being throughout the year.

whole_school_approach_cater_for_learner_diversityLa Salle College adopts whole school approach to catering for learner diversity. Apart from the differentiated learning strategies used in class, LSC also adopts a whole school approach to guidance and discipline. Guidance Team and Discipline Team take a lead in planning and implementing Moral and Civic Education programmes for students. LSC has a structured curriculum on values education using Form Teacher Periods. It aims at cultivating healthy mental and physical mindset, and equipping students with practical life skills. A structured career education curriculum is implemented in a sequential and systematic manner to develop students’ ownership of their career and life planning. LSC emphasizes students’ personal growth through extra-curricular activities, thus we offer 50 ECA in academic, interest, sports, performing art, service and religious areas to provide every student an opportunity to stretch their potential. The Learning Support Services Team introduces suitable academic programmes offered by various organizations to gifted students and runs remedial programmes to support students who lag behind.
whole_school_approach_integrated_educationOur school strives to build an inclusive culture, implementing a “whole school approach” to provide appropriate support and service for students with special education needs (SEN). We aim at enhancing the learning effectiveness of the students with SEN and helping them integrate into campus life. We place great importance on cooperation between home and school. Through different channels and means, the school encourages the involvement of parents in formulating and implementing appropriate strategies to cater for the needs of the students. The Student Support Service Committee is made up by SEN Coordinator, Panel Heads of Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics. They conduct regular reviews on the needs of the students, and mete out appropriate measures with the "Learning Support Grant" provided by the government.

adaptation_for_learning_and_assessmentLa Salle College has both Policy and a Quality Assurance Management System (QAMS) governing all assessment and reporting. Procedures set out in QAMS monitors the Mid-Year and End of Year exam process and continuous assessment that is used for promotion processes and it also monitors the HKDSE SBA based on the HKEAA and HKDSE regulations.
home_school_co_operationLa Salle College Parent Teacher Association (PTA) was set up in the academic year 1994-95. It plays an active role in the support of major school activities and serves as a bridge between the school and the parents. It is a crucial partner in the school's annual Family Fun Day, Summer Bridging Programme for new F.1 students and International Exchange Programmes. PTA also organizes various programmes such as Reading Club, parent education seminars, parent art classes and the parent sports club. PTA parent helpers provide voluntary services in the School Library throughout the year.
school_ethosLa Salle College has two mottos, one in Latin, the other Chinese. The Latin motto Fides et Opera, means faith and works – that at La Salle College we are motivated by faith and good work. The Chinese motto is from the Analects of Confucius – to subdue ones selfish desires and return to propriety (appropriate or fitting conduct).

Panel heads are given autonomy in designing their own programmes. The staff regularly join in-house PD workshops and share teaching practices on differentiated learning aligned to each individual teachers' appraisal goals.
