| language_policy | Cantonese is used as the medium of instruction for most of the subjects except for English Language, English Oral, and Language Arts lessons. Two NETs has been recruited to create more authentic opportunities for students to use English for communication purposes. Besides Cantonese and English, students are also required to learn Putonghua. In order to enhance the language proficiency of students, various measures have been introduced; for example, organizing various dynamic English activities, promoting a Morning Reading Session, Nowbook Digital Library Scheme and English enhancement courses. The school also promotes a teacher-student reading programme – Pages of Wisdom: Teacher Recommendations Initiative. These measures are aimed at helping students to become trilingual. |

| oa_orientation_activities_n_healthy_life | To help newly enrolled Secondary One students become familiar with the school's learning environment, orientation activities are held annually in July and August. Additionally, the Boarding Section organizes activities specifically designed to assist new boarders in adjusting to their new surroundings. The school actively promotes a healthy lifestyle by integrating facilities with educational activities. For example, a retired bus has been repurposed into a VR Life Education Experience Center, and 196 solar panels are used to support science and technology education, with all electricity cost savings used to support environmental activities. Food waste is converted into fertilizer using a composting machine for the school’s organic garden, achieving resource recycling. Additionally, eco-friendly smart water dispensers provide high-quality drinking water. The school has also repeatedly organized citywide primary school environmental competitions to spark students’ creativity and passion for environmental awareness. Commencing with the 2023-2024 cohort, the school will introduce a new healthcare education program. This program aims to deliver a comprehensive healthcare education curriculum by emphasizing specialized skills training for students. |

| whole_school_approach_integrated_education | Committed to the establishment of an inclusive culture, our school adopts a whole-school approach to give support to students with special education needs. Through the deployment of various resources, we can enhance these students’ learning effectiveness and also help them integrate into school life. Our Student Support Team, led by the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), comprises the teaching assistants, core subjects teachers, SEN Support Teacher and school social workers. The team plans, implements and reviews the work related to the support of students with SEN. Our school makes use of the learning support grant to deploy the allotted additional resources to provide appropriate support, including employing additional teaching assistants and hiring outside professional services such as speech therapy, social skills training, magic interest group, sports training group and after-school tutorial. Additionally, to further support students with SEN, the EDB provides our school with the School-based Educational Psychology Service to develop effective mechanisms to meet the diverse educational needs. The educational psychologist has regular meetings with the Student Support Team and parents. A systematic data bank on individual students is set up, and with the professional advice of the educational psychologist, we plan and review the school-based support services together with parents. Along with that, our school releases teachers to take training courses on catering for diverse learning needs organized by the EDB. Also, there will be various activities funded by the Grant for Supporting Non-Chinese Speaking Students with SEN students. |
