| curriculum_planning | "Our school uses ''child-centered'' as its educational philosophy. We focus on the holistic development of children. Taking into account a child's interests, abilities and life experiences which we then integrate diversified teaching methods. We encourage children to explore and share ideas within the learning process. Five teaching philosophies have been set up: ''Keen on exploring'', ''Courage to face challenge'', ''Blissful Learning'', '' Confidence to serve others'', and ''Keep eyes on Jesus''. Through constructive learning activities, children can interact with others, enhancing their interest in learning. At the same time, based on the truth of the Bible, through Bible stories, sharing and games, we help students to build a good moral character. We incorporate different teaching methods and activities to allow children to learn through games, discussions, observations, explorations and records to increase children's learning motivation and interest, inspire children's diverse potential and promote children's whole-person development. We will follow the “Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide” (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation." |
|---|
| learning_or_teaching_approach_and_activities | "In order to improve our students’ English ability, we have several native-English teachers (NETs) on hand to interact with children during the one-hour self-selected activities each day. We use the internationally recognized Cambridge English curriculum from which children can build a good foundation in English from an early age. We have bilingual AMclass where children can interact with English teachers for three hours. We also provide Mandarin classes every week. The Mandarin teacher will teach students words, sentences and songs of different themes in Mandarin by using school-based textbooks. They can express their thoughts and develop their problem-solving skills. Our school has adopted the ‘Orff’ music teaching method. It encourages children to experience various forms of music and movements. It uses parts of the body to make percussive sounds. Through free play, children can interact freely with a variety of low-structure materials in an environment according to their own interests and needs. The goal being the happiness and satisfaction of the students. We teach students in small groups. This provides students with more opportunities to express their views, enhance their language and help them develop social skills." |
|---|
| assessment_of_children_learning_experiences | We assess children’s learning experiences on a continued basis through continuous observation and evaluation. The school also examines children’s development and learning abilities in six major categories. |
|---|
| support_to_students | "New students' admission arrangements e.g. new parents' meetings, adaptation experience classes and orientation week. K3 students’ bridging arrangements e.g. P.1 admission and P.1 central allocation parents' meeting, primary school visit. A social worker will provide support to children and parents in need." |

| other_activities_or_communication_with_parents | "Regularly invite parents to be volunteers to assist in school visits and sharing sessions. There are two parents’ days per academic year where parents can communicate with teachers and learn the progress of their children's education. Parents' gatherings will be held with interest classes and workshops. Parents can share experience through different activities. Every year there will be a camp for father and child, while experiencing the hard work of mother's daily care, and to promote parent-child and couple relationships." |
