language_policyIn order to raise the Putonghua and Chinese abilities of our students, our teachers instruct in class using Putonghua during the Chinese speaking lessons (S.1). Our secondary section uses English as a medium of instruction, except for the subjects of Chinese Language, Chinese History and Chinese Literature.

oa_s1_admissionOur school will not participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2026 ).Admission criteria for S.1:
Academic performance, conduct, performance during interview, multiple intelligences and participation in extra-curricular activities will be considered as admission criteria.
oa_orientation_activities_n_healthy_life1. All new S.1 students will have to participate in the Bridging Course a half year before the school term starts. They have to see their teachers on a monthly-basis;
2. S.1 students have to take part in the Integration Programme and an Orientation Camp after the school term starts.

The school lays much emphasis on the mental and physical health of our students. Physical health: Each class will have PE lessons every week. There is also Sports Friday in which students can choose and play their favourite Sports. Each year, the school will also hold a Sports Day with all kinds of ball games and competitions.

1. Electronic circulars save much policy. 2. The use of electric appliances (e.g. air-conditioners, electric lights) is kept to a minimum. 3. Refuse is classified and recycled. 4. Green plants are placed everywhere in school. 5. The concept of conservation is promoted in the weekly assemblies and infiltrated into curricular.
learning_and_teaching_strategiesMost of the illustrations are vivid and interesting and students are always challenged by questions from the teachers. Some teachers phrase their questions very nicely that, students can be channeled into the critical thinking mode. Most teachers can engage students by interactive activities, including group discussion, presentations, debating, whole-class discussion and role-playing.
Our curriculum has 5 special features, including: (i) developing English competencies; (ii) pioneering gifted education; (iii) offering internationalized small class teaching; (iv) nurturing multiple intelligences and (v) emphasizing creative teaching and joy in learning.
Implementation of IB Diploma programme in which the teaching and learning approaches are even more student centered, project-based with a deeper international perspective.
school_based_curriculum1. Electives: 2X, 3X and 4X. Elective subjects include the following: Mathematics Extended Part Module 2, Chinese History, Geography, Economics, Chinese Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Music, Visual Arts, etc. Students choose three elective subjects.
2. Curriculum highlights:
(1) Outstanding English Proficiency: G.T. College hires Native English Teachers to facilitate upgrading students’ proficiency. (a) Many students who participated in the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival (English Speech) attained merits. (b) Our G8 (F.2) students attained a passing rate of 93% and a credit rate of % in IGCSE – English (Form Five standard) in 2025. (c) Our G12 (F.6) graduates attained 100% pass (Level 3) and 69% credit (Level 4) in DSE English in 2025.
(2) Our fifth IB cohart attained 46% (Level 7) in 2025.
(3) Programs for the Gifted: G.T. College offers many programs for the gifted, notably, (a) Talent Class; (b) Mentorship Program; (c) Accelerated Class; (d) After-School Gifted Program; (e) Elective Day; and (f) Third Language Group (a choice of six International Language). The College has established networks with internationally renowned scholars on the formulation of its programs for the gifted.
(5) Small Class Size: With small class size of about 26-28 students per class, teachers are able to spend more time on each student. Carefully chosen teaching materials are customized to cater for individual needs.
(6) Multiple Intelligences (MI): G.T. College embraces the idea of Multiple Intelligences. Everybody has his/her individual potential and talent which can be realized through education. In the secondary section, there are talent classes, clubs and interest group, accelerated class and electives, offering over than 100 programs for students to choose from.
major_renewed_emphases_in_the_school_curriculumAI course will introduce the world of artificial intelligence by providing a solid understanding of computer development, security, and system fundamentals. Students will also explore the intricacies of internet and network technologies, gain hands-on experience with commonly used software like Excel to strengthen logical and mathematical thinking, and dive into the basics of Python programming through flowcharting and problem solving to create their very own project.
life_planning_education1. Background: Facing the rapid changes worldwide with information technology and quenching of knowledge, we develop our students’ knowledge, adaptability, creativity, independent thinking and lifelong learning capabilities, so to enable them to have better competitive edges.
2. Objectives: Keep students informed of the choices in further studies, maximise their potential with different capabilities, guide students with regard to their further studies pathways.
3. Strategies: Align with students’ developmental needs, cater to all students’ needs, irrespective of their abilities and orientations, guide students in accordance with their interests and abilities, inspire individuals to develop their potential.
4. Implementation: Weekly assembly, quarterly career and life planning session, individual counseling, university visits (HK & overseas), career talks and visits, career interest assessment, parental workshop.
5. Whole School Approach: Organise subject specific career/further studies activities, invite prominent speakers to share career insights.
6. Further Studies Officer: A further studies officer is in place to formulate, coordinate and implement the career and life planning activities.
whole_school_approach_cater_for_learner_diversityTo cater for different education needs, our school has set up a Special Education Needs Team under the Moral Education Group. Teachers with SEN training, together with experienced teachers and social workers will provide prompt support for students with Special Education Needs. The Learning Support Grant and other school resources will be utilized to enhance learning effectiveness for students with diverse abilities.
whole_school_approach_integrated_educationThe school has set up a student support team with members which include the principal, the head of Teaching and Assessment Group, the head of Moral Education Group, the special educational needs coordinator and the school social worker to coordinate, plan and take care of learning strategies for students with different educational needs. Also, exam adjustment and homework guidance for students with special learning needs are to be provided. The team is work aim to assist them in solving difficulties encountered in learning.
adaptation_for_learning_and_assessmentOur school has a comprehensive learning assessment policy. Besides the term exam, there will be centralized testing and items assessed including class participation (learning performances and attitude), coursework and test results. Our homework policy is that the student should be able to complete their homework in 10 hours or less per week.
fee_remissionRemission is based on family income and financial status (Refer School website for details.) Needy students, including those from families receiving the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) and students receiving financial assistance provided by the Student Finance Office of the Working Family and Student Financial Assistance Agency (WFSFAA), could apply for fee remission.
