learning_and_teaching_strategiesOur school advocates “CHING-CHUNG G21 Empowerment Learning”. In order to provide appropriate kits and strategies to facilitate empowerment learning, we are going to further develop diversified teaching methodology on a Google-based interactive e-learning platform which allows students to learn beyond the limits of time and space. Teachers would be able to tailor-make diversified teaching materials on this platform to better cater for individual students' needs. Materials like tutorial videos, lesson broadcast, interactive surveys, live-broadcast of activities, lesson notes, and assessments will all be made available on the platform to facilitate students' learning. Students can make full use of the materials for lesson preparation and consolidation. They would also be able to discuss with their peers and teachers, ask each other questions, do exercises and assignments, take assessments, and receive timely feedback inside and outside classrooms. Moreover, students are allocated into classes according to mixed abilities so as to avoid labeling effects. However, for the subjects of Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics, students are allocated into different small groups according to their abilities to cater for their individual needs.

whole_school_approach_cater_for_learner_diversityIn order to cater for individual needs, students are allocated into different small groups according to their abilities for the subjects of Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics. For senior forms, we offer more than 300 subject combinations to suit students’ individual interests and ability to prepare them to make the best choice for their future. We organize after-school courses to cater for students’ different learning needs and their growth.
whole_school_approach_integrated_educationThe school's Inclusive Education Committee consists of the SENCO, the SEN-teachers, and social workers. We provide support and training to teachers and amend appropriate courses and assessments for students with special educational needs (including local and NCS students) so that students with different needs can learn and grow with our timely and appropriate care. We communicate with parents of students with special educational needs on a regular basis, listen to parents' opinions and report about students' learning progress. In addition, we use the Learning Support Grant to invite external professionals or teams to provide support and counseling services for students in need such as Chinese and English reading and writing training courses, concentration training groups and social training group, etc.
support_for_non_chinese_studentsOur school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: appointing additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; and organising activities to create an inclusive learning environment in the school. Our school will provide instruction and coordination for NCS students to enroll various courses and participate in public examinations.
adaptation_for_learning_and_assessmentIn the assessment of teaching and learning, we put emphasis on the application of Assessment for Learning to enhance the effectiveness of students' learning. Subject teachers adjust their method of assessment according to students’ ability for timely and appropriate feedback. We therefore conduct various kinds of formative assessments to evaluate students' progress in order to offer more incentive for them to learn actively and effectively. In practice, teachers of junior forms adjust the progress to suit students' ability in order that they can learn towards an objective.
