curriculum_planning"Focusing on child-centredness, our curriculum places emphasis on developing children’s values and attitudes, skills and knowledge. The curriculum involves six learning areas, providing all-rounded, balanced and appropriate education, while at the same time nurtures children’s development in Moral, Cognitive and Language, Physical, Affective and Social, as well as Aesthetic. We aim to provide appropriate care to meet children’s development on growth, ability, interest and experience. We respect the individuality of each child and will exercise flexibility in teaching. Special subject teachers will be arranged to hold activities on biliteracy and trilingualism. We will follow the “Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide” (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation."
learning_or_teaching_approach_and_activities"The focus is on daily-life oriented topics and interesting stories that stimulate children's problem-solving, exploration, and creative thinking. The learning content is enriched with picture books and diverse integrated activities designed to enhance the learning experience. Bilingual development is emphasized to improve language abilities through interactive methods. An online parent-child reading program has been established to provide guidance on recommended Chinese and English books for parents, cultivating a love for reading in children. The classrooms feature interest corners equipped with abundant teaching materials, where children engage in exploratory activities using their five senses, encourages children to be more proactive and self-motivated in learning through play, and combined with self-selected grouping method, cultivates children to become active learners."
assessment_of_children_learning_experiences"We adapt both formative and summative assessments, which include reports on values and attitudes, skills and knowledge. Through daily observation and different teaching themes, teachers can assess children’s continuous development and will provide reports on picture book activities, behavioral observation and work analysis. Assessment reports that summarize children's overall learning development will be distributed twice a year. Learning Portfolio with all reports and photos of children in various learning activities will be distributed."
