curriculum_planning"Our kindergarten utilizes curriculum that melds picture book teaching strategy with game-based learning, tailored to children's abilities, interests, life experiences, and developmental traits to promote their holistic growth. Additionally, we place great emphasis on fostering bilingualism from a young age. Hence, we employ foreign English and Mandarin teachers to specialize in teaching English and Mandarin, providing children with ample opportunities to immerse themselves in these languages. Complementing this, we utilize Cambridge English books to facilitate opportunities for listening and speaking. Regarding Chinese language, teachers design language-based activities to encourage children to independently acquire related information, exchange and learn from classmates, and present their creations to enhance their oral and written skills. We will follow the “Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide” (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation."
learning_or_teaching_approach_and_activities"Our kindergarten aims to cultivate a disposition of ''love learning, acquire learning skills, and take initiative to learn'' from an early age. Therefore, children are exposed to a multifaceted environment that stimulates and diversifies their learning through six major categories of instructional materials. We aim to balance their learning and development, inspiring them to construct knowledge from their existing life experiences, and stimulate their problem-solving abilities in mathematics and logic, confidence in social interactions, communication, collaboration, creativity, and self-directed learning. Furthermore, teachers will organize various activities based on topics, such as scientific experiments, field trips to inspire children's learning interests, cultivate a love for learning, communication skills, and the courage to innovate. Additionally, we firmly believe that every student possesses innate potential. Through professional instructors' guidance in martial arts, dance, jump rope, and physical fitness, we endeavor to cultivate children's interests and develop their potential, allowing children of different personalities to participate in activities suited to their preferences."
assessment_of_children_learning_experiences"Parents can understand their children's learning, growth and development through their children's learning files which including 8 subject-based learning assessments per year. Our kindergarten has a summative development assessment for children in the first and second semesters, allowing parents to have an in-depth understanding of their children's learning and development progress."
support_to_students"Our Kindergarten has arranged the new comers’ adaptive period, parenting school days, primary one experiencing & activity courses, primary school visits, routine parents talks. Also, we offer referral services for the students of diversity and special needs and in-house services of social worker. A yearly class observation to parents is arranged. At the end of each academic year, we would assist the children who are going to study in primary one in order to get used to new life in primary school."
