curriculum_planning"Core Value︰Child Centredness Aim︰Build a foundation for a healthy life for children To cultivate the whole-person development of children, establish the foundation for a healthy life and nurture children who dare to face challenges in their lives. We believe that letting children have the personal qualities and abilities of ''being courageous, distinguishing right from wrong, creative thinking, healthy and vigorous, willing to collaborate, good at communication, unique and often grateful'' is the most important task for children in this stage of development. We will follow the “Kindergarten Education Curriculum Guide” (2017) to plan curriculum. Children of nursery classes will not be asked to write, and there will not be mechanical copying exercises and drills on calculation."
learning_or_teaching_approach_and_activities"The theory of constructive learning points out that children are active learners. They organize experiences through cognitive processes and are affected by personal and social culture. According to this theory, the school starts the curriculum with themes familiar with children, from self-recognition of the surrounding environment and community learning, from the inside to the outside, from concrete to abstract, taking into account both horizontal and vertical learning experiences. We use the thematic and project approach. The learning process is not only affected by differences in the personal background of children but also due to the cultural interaction of peers of different nationalities, resulting in the integration of multiculturalism and shared learning results. 'Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.' --John Dewey Education is a part of life that can change lives, promote growth and social development. Our curriculum starts from daily life themes of ''clothing, food, housing, and transportation''. The teachers design the integrated curriculum that is fun, interactive, creative and challenging. The integrated curriculum covers learning areas such as ''SELF and SOCIETY'', ''LANGUAGE'', ''NATURE and LIVING'', ''EARLY CHILDHOOD MATHS'', ''PHYSICAL'' and ''art and creativity'' to inspire children's “Values and Attitudes”, “Skills” and “Knowledge”."
assessment_of_children_learning_experiencesAn individual portfolio is compiled for each child based on ongoing observation and record of a child’s performance in different stages. The portfolio will be reported and shared with parents at the end of each semester.
